Two new films from Vietnam and Indonesia.

Terracotta Distribution is pleased to announce the acquisition of two new films, from Vietnam and Indonesia, to add to their already diverse catalogue: THE LADY ASSASSIN by director Nguyen Quang Dung and SHACKLED (aka BELENGGU) by director Upi.

THE LADY ASSASSIN is a 3-D martial arts film in the vein of classic Shaw Brothers film. It broke local box office records for its domestic release and took $3m at the box-office on opening weekend in L.A. alone.

Psychological thriller SHACKLED (aka BELENGGU) by female director Upi is a David Lynch style murder mystery, noir/horror from Indonesia. It opened the Terracotta Festival ’s Horror All-Nighter jointly presented with Film4 FrightFest in June.

Both films will be released in the UK on DVD and digital channels with a limited theatrical release showing THE LADY ASSASSIN in November 2013.

Terracotta founder Joey Leung commented: “We are very excited to be working on these titles - we will take a tailor-made product development and marketing approach to each film. Both Vietnam and Indonesia have a strong output of films and we are one of the few labels to help connect UK audiences with these fantastic titles.”

These will be the first titles from Vietnam and Indonesia from the Terracotta and Terror Cotta labels, having released diverse titles from Korean fantasy horror HANSEL AND GRETEL to Taiwanese drama GOD MAN DOG and Japanese 3D comedy-horror BIG TITS ZOMBIE.
